segunda división: international destinations

𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 🌍

After the interest generated by my previous study on the international destinations of Primera RFEF players, I decided to carry out a new analysis focused on players from 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

The study excludes teams relegated from LaLiga and covers the period between the 2020/21 season and the beginning of August 2025/26. It confirms a clear trend: 𝗟𝗮𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗮 𝗛𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱.

🔄 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻:

  🌟 In addition, there are 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 that are beginning to attract more players from Segunda and are worth keeping an eye on:

• 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮

• 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮

• 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 (𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗕)

• 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹

• 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

The reading is clear: Segunda División does not only export quality to LaLiga, it also exports to international leagues who value the talent in Segunda.

For clubs, agents, and scouts, this opens up two avenues:

1. Identifying exportable talent before the market makes it mainstream.

2. Better understand what profiles and positions are demanded in each league.
